New update for Skype for Windows 8

Skype has come to the Windows 8 platform several weeks ago, but only now the company has released its first update.

The update will be delivered via Windows Store and brings general fixes and improved performance of video calling. Most importantly, the new Skype for Windows 8 includes the tools necessary to find people and groups and to call Messenger contacts.

The new software will run on any device with Windows 8, since it has support for three versions available so far: x86, x64 and ARM.

Skype could get many more updates in the coming months, since the application will take hold soon of Windows Live Messenger. Microsoft removed the MSN and Skype will keep your IM division.
